Sintiendo Mariposas, por S. N.

We live in a world where "feeling" is sometimes a luxury few people can afford. We're taught that we have to act in a measured way under a series of specifications so that, supposedly, everything will go well for us: you have to study to get a good job, a good job to have money, money to have a big house, a big car, material possessions in general, all of which will lead you to "attract" a life partner with whom you will marry, have children, grandchildren, retire, and ultimately die.

¿What's left in between? Where are those butterflies that appeared in fairy tales? Were they just fairy tales?

That look you find on a bad day and that comforts you, that helping hand that appears just when you think you're falling to save you from an emotional void, that "Mom, I love you" heard for the first time from your child, that "I do" that you never thought would move you. Also that feeling of waking up one morning and feeling that you don't need anything else, that you're happy, that everything life continues to give you is a plus that will continue to add butterflies to that sanctuary called the soul, which is our essence and our being, that inner palace where we are with our feelings, and where we only let a few lucky ones in to fully know us, with our butterflies and our shadows.

Those butterflies, which we thought came from a fairy tale, exist. You have them inside. You just have to close your eyes and search for that feeling that moves you, that makes you feel fulfilled, that makes you sigh and empty your lungs of fear, and when you inhale again, we fill them with excitement, hope, and butterflies. Because they're not only felt in the stomach, but also in our lungs, our hearts, and our minds. Let them guide you. Never stop feeling butterflies.
